I've had great luck with Sean O'Boyle (SJO Corp). He's done two jobs for me, one of those involved exterior stucco repair.

Anyone have any new contractor names or feedback to add to this list before I start making calls? I need to repair exterior cement work over brick on the building, technically called parging but most civilians call it stucco. I don't do DIY 40 feet up!

I've used Jaime Construction to do exterior stucco, new sidewalks and concrete flooring. They do pretty good work and as I recall their pricing was pretty competitive. I've also heard good things about PMJ Construction.

Basically, now that it's warm, one good way to do research would be to look for any buildings downtown where exterior masonry work is being done. They will usually have a sign that tells you which contractor is doing the job. If they look like they're professional and doing good work - good scaffolding, debris screens, proper tools, an active supervisor, etc., then ask someone for a card or a number to call. Contact a few to give you quotes - just talking to them about the quote can tell you a lot about how good they are.

Can anyone recommend someone to do stucco work on the back of our house?

I am actually in the middle of repairs from the hurricane with Basil McGregor (who has been recommended multiple times on this site). My situation is a bit different than yours but he is doing stucco on our wall inside the house. This was an idea he had since stucco can get wet, god forbid we flood or get water again, it wouldn't crumble.

Like many residents on this site I can not receommend him highly enough. He has been just wonderful to work with. He is talented, his work is meticulous, he is reasonably priced and him and his crew are timely, non-intrusive and professional.

I think he would be worth giving a call!

I too am looking for a stucco contractor recommedation. Please tell me about your experience.

We have some stucco, around the windows in our brownstone, which is starting to crumble and fall down. We had some roof work done recently by a company that also does masonry. When I asked him about it he said we need a stucco company.

As I am new to this I am reaching out for some advice.
Do I need a company that specializes in stucco or should I call general contractors? Is he correct that I shouldn't call masons?(seems to me they go hand in hand).

Can anyone recommend a reliable company for this type of job?
