The death of a 54-year-old Downtown Jersey City man who fell from his 16th floor balcony appears to have been a tragic accident that happened while he was taking down decorations, officials said today.

The body of Mark G. Viteznik, who lived at Portside Towers at 100 Warren Street, was found on a third story balcony last night, as was the pair of pliers he was using to take down decorations, Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio said today.

Viteznik lived in the luxury high-rise with his wife and her two children and when they returned home last night they noticed the door to the balcony was ajar, reports said.

One of the children checked the balcony and then leaned over the railing and saw Viteznik's body 13 floors below, DeFazio said.Resized Imagehttp://www.nj.com/hudson/index.ssf/20 ... y_man_who_fell_to_de.html
