No doubt in my mind it's the same guy I saw last year. He was taking anything he could get his hands on. On one stoop he grabbed a Netflix envelope from the mailbox and immediately opened it and discarded the packaging. A couple weeks later when the cops caught up with him he had several items that he had boosted from Target and Home Depot. I was following him till the cops arrived and in Home Depot he had removed a magnetic security alarm and pocketed a tool kit so fast it was pretty amazing. He has it down to a science. He's also a fast talker and recently, when I saw him casing cars and stoops, he fast talked his way from the cops in minutes. "I was just looking for a place to charge my phone" was his explanation. I don't think he's dangerous but he is certainly relentless.

If your valuables are accessable, thieves will extract what value they are able to enhance their lives

Seems to be status quo, from the top to the bottom...

There is a guy who I witnessed doing this and had arrested last year. I have seen him in the Hamilton Park area again recently. Someone on another thread said his name is Nicky. In any case, he is white, about 5'10",170lbs, wears glasses and has 2 small, fading tear-drop tattoos on the corners of both eyes. I saw him 2 days ago ducking into Basic to use the bathroom. He was wearing a black coat and a black pork-pie hat. He was also carrying a large black backpack. Below is what the hat looks like. He is pretty well spoken and is a great BS artist. When I originally caught him he did a decent job of passing himself off as a delivery guy. Luckily I caught up with him again at Target where the cops finally arrested him with a bag of shoplifted items.

BTW? Last month he had a different hat! Maybe we should call him the "Dapper D-Bag"?

Wanted to give everyone a 'heads up'. My neighbors and I (on 7th between Manila and Erie) have had several packages stolen this week from our front hallways. The packages left behind have been slashed open (I'm assuming to see contents and whether or not it's worth taking). I receive packages daily and this has never happened until this week... Has anyone else had this happen?
