The owner of this shop set me up with a couple of good quality used bikes.
I highly recommended this business

They're a great asset up here in the Heights. They did a great job rehabing a bike that was on it's last leg. And for a quick fix they came through clutch.

Have used them for this shop for the whole season now... Very impressed with how they came along. Full disclosure, I'm friendly with them and so probably biased, but I have no kickbacks or anything and have not been asked to post on their behalf. They just love and *get* bikes. Best of luck to Jersey Cycles in the coming year...

Have been going to Jersey Cycles for a while now... Three very different guys, Saul, Alejandro and Lucas and all in all an excellent little shop. While the bikes they carry are not at 4-digit prices, their knowledge and repair skills go far beyond. Kudos to them and I hope they succeed.

Actually 4 well sort of, while the newest on Central is still a work in progress, there is another, on 110 Hutton St. west of Central Ave. Ironically it is called Central Bike shop and toys because they used to be located down the block on Central Ave. Now they are up the block from the local police station. They have some cheap bikes inside put together so they must have some mechanical ability but interestingly enough there is this old guy who sits outside selling vintage bikes, he used to sell them in front of his house but now hangs out there. He also has the means to fix them with just a phone call away his son swings by with a van full of tools and bike parts. I saw one of the bikes on the road it was an old orange Miyata road bike the guy just moved to J.C. and snagged it for a song.

15 minutes later confirms it was still closed. I was there at 10:25am today. If the place is still a work in progress then it should open when fully prepared and stocked. I chatted with the owner the other day he seems excited about the business and helpful as well but as I stated there must be some loose ends to tie.

I stopped by this place this morning at 10:40. The sign in the window said it opened at 10:00. It hadn't. Not a good sign for a new business.

Good to have one back since the one on the Blvd and Bowers closed a few years back

The one you mentioned (James Vincent Bikes) that closed has reopened at 351 Palisade Ave. It is in the old SDS Bike Shop location on the east side of the Heights same phone number too as on the Boulevard (201) 420-5151. http://www.jamesvincentbicycles.com/index.html I had my bike tuned up there.

New bicycle shop up in the Heights on Central Ave. at the foot of North St. near the C-Town supermarket. The address is 510 Central Ave. It's on the north end of the Heights. The owner has been only open less than a week so he is just settling in and getting the place in order.
Website, phone number, and hours to follow.
