I have to move my car three times a week because of street cleaning. My fiance and I trade off who moves it when. We have both completely panicked a few times when one of us moved the car and didn't mention it to the other and and we thought it was stolen. Now we have figured out to always, always tell each other if we moved it. Ah, city life...

relieved to know your car's not stolen, and that I'm not the only one who does this.

At least now I know the steps to take if it happens.

I've had friends find their car weeks after it was stolen because they started receiving notices for unpaid parking tickets. Maybe the parking Authority can tell you if any parking tickets have been issued using your license plate.

Just a thought.

File that Stolen Vehichle report NOW! You already contacted the main authorities. Your car is probably abandoned somewhere near, so you need to get the info out now. Sorry you have to go through this.

The only two things i can think of, both longshots. Call the Parks department. They have been clearing low branches and had day signs up around town (like when someone's moving in). Maybe you missed it. Or call one of our friendly neighborhood towing companies. like Danny's or EZ. See what they have to say.

I assume you were parked legally. Sometimes if you're even an inch fro a driveway those people may call and have you towed cause they can't turn in. Those are private companies, I think.

good luck.

1999 Honda Prelude - Black, last parked on Bright St, just a few spots off the corner from Jersey Ave.

Called the precinct, pound and parking authority and there is no record of it being towed. Anyone else have any other ideas of places to look before filing a stolen vehicle report?

Thanks
