Jersey City 14-year-old arrested on burglary charges for third time in month, cops say
Published: Thursday, September 08, 2011, 5:25 PM By Michaelangelo Conte/The Jersey Journal A 14-year-old boy was arrested for the third time in a month, and two others were charged with burglary Wednesday when cops saw the three leaving a Jersey City home with bags of video games, cameras and other items, Jersey City police said. Police said the arrests were a product of increased patrols in the Western Slope due to a rise in burglaries there. The three had stolen the items from a Terrace Avenue home, police said. Miguel A. Caraballo, 19, of Concord Street, as well as Rebecca Razabola, 18, and the boy, both of Palisade Avenue, were arrested at about 1 p.m. and charged with burglary and theft, reports said. Officers on patrol spotted the three and began following them when then realized the boy was charged last month in two burglaries, reports said. The cops followed the trio as they walked and looked down alleyways and when they disappeared around Terrace Avenue at Thorne Street, the police assumed they had entered a building, reports said. When the trio reappeared they were carrying bags that turned out to contain various video game systems, a camera, cell phones, computer components and a letter addressed to nearby home, reports said. Officers went to the home and found a ladder beneath a window that had been forced in. Inside the home, two rooms had been rummaged through, reports said.
