Rosie O'Donnell was in Jersey City yesterday to film for an appearance on Lisa Kudrow's reality show about genealogy, "Who Do You Think You Are?"

According to NBC's website, the show "is an adaptation of the award-winning hit British television documentary series . (that) leads celebrities on a journey of self-discovery as they unearth their family trees that reveal surprising, inspiring and even tragic stories that are often linked to crucial events in American history."

O'Donnell's crew showed up at the Jersey City Free Public Library's main branch about 12:30 p.m. yesterday and O'Donnell, who had been filming in other areas of Jersey City, arrived about an hour later.

She came up to the library's third floor to do research.

Neither O'Donnell nor any NBC representatives would answer questions about O'Donnell's New Jersey connection, although O'Donnell was very nice about it.

The episode is not slated to air until Sept. 15, 2011.
