GrovePath, please clarify. Are you suggesting the "Naked Cowboy" robbed $4,000 from Capital One in Jersey City yesterday?

Naked Cowboy, the Secaucus resident who performs in Times Square in his briefs, wants to lead America out of communism, close its borders, drug-test welfare recipients, freeze government workers' salaries and smash their unions, and bring back HUAC

Anyone who has spent a moment in the presence of the Naked Cowboy in Times Square as the busker strums a guitar clad in nothing more than cowboy boots, a hat and underpants would assume he's a free-wheeling spirit.

The truth is Robert John Burck, of Secaucus, swings to the right politically.

In October, Burck announced his candidacy for president of the United States, in an effort to oust President Obama.

If elected, the Tea Party member said he would re-create the House Committee on Un-American Activities (HUAC), the U.S. congressional committee that investigated suspected communists until its dissolution in 1975.

As far as Burck's concerned, the nation is currently a communist state.

"The only moral system is capitalist," Burck said.

"We've got to get government out of the way and scale it down. Individuals and private businesses generate wealth."

Burck's priorities also include instating a hiring freeze on all government agencies, terminating all independent government agencies at the end of each year to free up money, and closing the border.

He would also like to make drug tests for welfare recipients mandatory, abolish unions for government workers and reverse the recently passed health care law, the New York Daily News reported.

"If I can only get one, I'll take one," Burck said of his controversial goals.

Burck, who holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Cincinnati, keeps copies of Ayn Rand books close and recommends people read "Trickle Up Poverty," by talk radio host Michael Savage, to grasp the underpinnings of his own philosophy.

He apparently didn't get the memo that it's supposed to be a YANKEES cap!

Michaelangelo Conte/The Jersey Journal

A Downtown Jersey City bank was robbed of about $4,000 by a man who calmly approached a teller Wednesday with his hands in his pockets and said "Honey, this a stickup -- just fill the bag," reports said.

It was 2:25 p.m. when the robber demanded money at the Capital One Bank on Washington Boulevard, and after the teller filled his bag, reports said, he asked: "Is the hundreds in there?"

She said "yes" and he grabbed the bag and left the bank heading east toward the Pavonia/Newport PATH station, reports said.

The robber is described as 50 to 55 years old, about 5-foot-7 and 200 pounds, reports said, adding that his hair was gray and he had a light mustache and thick beard covering his chin.

He wore a tan and orange cap, dark pants, cowboy boots, dark brown sunglasses, and a tan jacket with a light shirt or sweater beneath, reports said, adding that he carried a two-tone backpack.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call the Jersey City police tip line at (201) 547-JAIL.
