View Larger Map Liquor store shoplifter's knife ends 2 customers' and clerk's efforts to hold him in store Tuesday, November 02, 2010 Two customers at a liquor store in Jersey City grabbed a man and tried to prevent him from leaving the store on Friday without paying for two bottles of alcohol they'd noticed he had stuffed into his jacket, reports said. But when the robber pulled a large knife, the two customers and a store employee backed off, and the robber fled Liberty Liquors and Deli on Washington Street at about 2 p.m. and drove away in a blue Chrysler with Pennsylvania license plates, reports said. Witnesses took down the license plate and the case is under investigation, police said. BRETT WILSHE

I saw a small piece in today?s (11/2) print Jersey Journal about a problem at 200 Washington Street. Seems a guy walked into the store at 2:00 pm and stuffed a few bottles of booze down his pants. A customer and employee saw him do it and tried holding him for the po-po. He pulled out a BIG knife and took off. The car he escaped in had Pennsylvania plates. Someone wrote down the plate number so they will probably get the low life.

Unless of course it was a stolen car.
