Why this issue and not every local, state and federal issue?

Look to California's financial state right now. Many say it is due to voter referendum. Voters in CA want everything from the state but dont want to pay for anything.

Recently I was reading article about an effort to amend the Florida constitution to require voter approval of developments and alterations. I was thinking something like that is needed in New Jersey to curb all of the excessive abatement!

Great idea but totally unworkable, instead we should not vote for leaders who give away the city to corporations and real estate interest, ever!

Has any of this been discussed with the canidates ? It seems this is how it works. I'd like to know what the current members think and what their knowledge entails on the issue of real estate abatements.
