I happened to be riding through Paterson one day and came across something similar. There was a Hispanic parade finishing up and then as I drove further there was a guy screaming into a mic along with woman interpeting in English, it should have been the other way around. Very abrupt way od conveying information. Low class stores and stores of the mainstream seem to adopt this method of marketing as well.

Even CHRIST didn't have the bad sense to use a microphone and an amp and he seems to have gotten his message out, although I guess "Blessed are the peacemakers" could have benefitted with a little more volume...few seemed to have heard it.

Did someone reappoint Bret Schundler as assistant mayor? His forte was a steady stream of religious crap all over City Hall grounds in spite of its unconstitutionality.

hah yeah,
I guess it wouldn't be too christian for them to kill the mic if someone is a horrible singer though.

this mixed with weird children's magician guy in van vorst park makes for one odd saturday...

that fits, it sounded like a revival at times. i just don't get why the singing has to be so loud and off-key and why they're allowed to use such a powerful sound system. i'd enjoy a free concert even with christian rock, etc. but this stuff just sounds like a shabby amateur night which makes it doubly annoying. and whoever the mc is seems to just yell into the microphone. the cause deserves better.

I walked past it, "save the children" banner and blasting pray jesus music. Not really my scene.

Though just like you I still hear it from my apartment.

Good grief. What is that event happening there now? When will it end? And why are they allowed to be so loud? Even with my windows closed the yelling is too much!
