A copy of the signed and stamped was all I needed. No need for a certified copy.

I'm sure you will have to have a copy signed by the judge with the docket number and county where it was adjudicated or disposed of. The judge's signature and stamp by the clerk is what makes it final. There is not another type of certification.

Does anyone know if the divorce decree while applying for a marriage license has to be CERTIFIED? We're going to city hall on Monday. We have all the proper paperwork but it's not clear if I can bring a copy of my divorce decree or if it has to be certified. Of course, the city clerk was closed today. The Jersey City website and the state of NJ website just says to bring a divorce decree; it doesn't say if it has to be certified or not.

Does anyone who's been divorced and gotten re-married in JC know the answer to this?
