Violent robber takes $800 at Jersey City convenience store
Saturday, January 23, 2010 A man pushed his way behind the counter, threw an employee to the floor and took $800 from a Jersey City convenience store Thursday, police reports said. The robber was described as about 6 foot and in his early 20s, police said. The man was wearing a black flight jacket and a baseball cap, reports said. He walked into Bread and Butter, on Bergen Avenue near Communipaw Avenue, at 5:43 p.m. and emptied the cash boxes before fleeing north on Bergen, reports said. JOURNAL STAFF
