Hi
Too bad you missed out on yesterdays cyber monday sales- There were some deals. ebodyboarding.com is a good online shop.

If you need a board, swim fins and /or a leash it might be good to take advantage of free shipping on $125 + purchases.

Is she a good swimmer? Is she going out there alone?

If someone is going to be in the water pushing her into (small) waves then all you really need is board (and wetsuit depending on water temp).

I would buy a smaller board (around 36") if shes going to be roughing it on her own - or a larger one if someones gonna be out there pushing her around.

One advice I have is to start off in really small waves- she will have way more fun! It will be safer and easier to help her learn.

Ive been bodyboarding for a while now so feel free to pm me and I'll help you out... fyi i dont know too much about New Jersey beaches - (prefer to be in warmer water)

HAVE FUN!

Located in Brooklyn just a mile south of the Williamsburg Bridge along the East River.

Along the coastal towns of Monmouth & Ocean Counties in New Jersey you may find what you are looking for. Brave New World in Point Pleasant Beach is a great spot for surfers. Rt. 35 south corner of N.Y. & Richmond Ave.

are there any surfers out there who might recommend a good boogie board for a waify but fearless eight year old girl? And are there any stores around North Jersey or NYC that have a good selection? I would go to Ron Jon, but that's all the way down in LBI.
