Commuter van fire in Downtown Jersey City

Firefighters hose down a commuter van that went on fire this afternoon at 10th Street and Manila Avenue in Downtown Jersey City.

A commuter van caught fire this afternoon at 10th Street and Manila Avenue in the Downtown section of Jersey City. Photographer Richard. J. McCormack reports that the driver saw the van was overheating so he went to get water. By the time he returned, the van was in flames.

The van was empty so no passengers were in danger, McCormack said, but the driver did get burned on his arm.
