charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and possession of a defaced firearm Glad they got him on possession of a defaced firearm, because that should carry a lot more time than, you know, shooting the damn gun.

Cops: used gun to shoot McD's windows
Tuesday, February 03, 2009 UNION CITY - A Jersey City man was arrested in Cliffside Park early Sunday morning for having an illegal gun that he used to shoot out two windows at a McDonald's restaurant in Union City, police said. Jamie Caban, 27, of New York Avenue, was charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and possession of a defaced firearm, reports said. During a dispute in a McDonald's parking lot at 32nd Street and Kennedy Boulevard, Caban pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots, shattering two windows of the restaurant, on Saturday 3:31 a.m., reports said. Union City Police recovered fragments of at least three rounds at the scene, police said. Tipped off to Caban's whereabouts, Union City police arrested Caban on Palisade Avenue in Cliffside Park Sunday at 4:07 a.m. with the help of the Cliffside Park Police and the Bergen County Sheriff's Department K-9 unit, police said. A .357-caliber magnum was recovered from his car with spent shell casings in the gun, reports said. CHARLES HACK
