So was the "shrink-wrap" meant to keep the bills dry?
FWIW: Another Great Moment from Republican Presidential History: As "Deep Throat" said, "Follow the money." The first reference to the term "money laundering" itself actually appears during the Watergate scandal. US President Richard Nixon's "Committee to Re-elect the President" moved illegal campaign contributions to Mexico, then brought the money back through a company in Miami. It was Britain's Guardian newspaper that coined the term, referring to the process as "laundering." See Jeffrey Robinson's three books on money laundering, The Laundrymen, The Merger and The Sink. Robinson is a recognized expert on organized crime, fraud and money laundering, and has been labeled, by the British Bankers' Association, ?the world?s most important financial crime journalist.?

Police find $1.6M in hidden car compartment
by The Associated Press Friday November 07, 2008, 12:35 PM State Police say three men suspected of running a money laundering operating in northern New Jersey had more than loose change inside their cars. Police arrested 39-year-old Luis Reyes of Jersey City, 31-year-old Carlos Roman of Lyndhurst, and 29-year-old Mario Reynoso of Newark after finding more than $1.6 million in cash hidden inside an expensive SUV Reyes was driving. More than $35,000 was in a center console and $1,000 in the glove box. The rest, police say, was inside shrink-wrapped packages hidden in the car's interior panels. Police say more cash, a semiautomatic handgun and money laundering equipment were found inside homes connected to the men. The men have been charged with money laundering and conspiracy. It was not immediately clear if they had attorneys.
