I know you have a soft spot for Healy, grovepath and I wish you good luck for his success but I'm of the mind that we need change with no favors - with all the financial drama's and retrenchments now occuring, why was it necessary to handout huge abatements for corporate american in JC to secure jobs when they are getting laid off.
With all the abatement savings, corporate america should be able to hang onto their staff to ride the wave.

Say what you will, but I think Healy is a pretty honest Mayor - and I think he is by far the most likely to win next year.

We really need to sweep out all the bad history out of JC and have start fresh.
If Fulop wins as Mayor, he should and we should demand ethical standards so high as though a person was running for President. NO CONVICTIONS OF ANY SORT (except minor traffic offences). If its good for the country, its good for JC.

These 3 stooges should never hold public office here or anywhere. We deserve better then them !

(Excerpt from the Jersey Journal)

Today's Jersey Journal Political Insider is a mixed bag of notes with at least one odd couple noted.

There have been reports that Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy and former Mayor and nemesis Gerald McCann have been buddy-buddy of late, the Insider reports.

HEY, WHO'S YOUR BUDDY?

There have been reports that Healy and former Mayor and nemesis Gerald McCann have been buddy-buddy of late. People say McCann has been down to Healy's City Hall office.

"The mayor has been meeting with members of the Board of Education," said McCann, who was once accused of being behind the infamous alfesco photos of the mayor. "I met him last week and again on Monday."

The former mayor said the discussions have been about school business and that the two have agreed more than disagreed. One example is that the mayor would like to see new school construction not take up so much land. What's wrong with constructing a more vertical building?

Then again, McCann admitted that two politicians can not help themselves and they discussed politics.

One thing is certain, if it came down to a choice between Healy and state Sen. Sandra B. Cunningham, McCann would "help" the incumbent mayor. Those close to McCann say he believes that the worst thing that could happen to the city is for Mrs. Cunningham to win a mayoral election.
