paying for the permit saves you $150/month. That's almost 2k more a year or 7.5 more dollars to splurge on lunch everday.

Yeah, maybe but the $175 is monthly cost of mall parking while the $300 street permit is yearly. If it's convenience he wants I'd go for the mall parking too.

300 bucks doesn't seem worth it for a non-resident permit if you have the option to park in a garage for 175. With the garage you don't have to deal with street cleaning rules, lack of parking spots, and other nonsense like that.

Parking options for Non-JC Resident

Would anyone have suggestions for a non-JC resident who would like to park in Jersey City for work? Right now I'm doing the $15/day garage next to the Pavonia PATH Station but thats going to be too costly over the long haul. (The monthly there is $330).
I currently work @ 480 Washington Blvd - the lot within my building is by lottery only so I'm not counting on that anytime soon. The mall lot I believe is $175, which isn't bad - but before I commit to that I wanted to see what my other options are. It looks like there's street parking a few blocks down - and I'd be OK with that, but would I have any problems getting a non-resident permit? (I'm a contractor right now so my W2 and paycheck don't have the company name/address showing Jersey City, its a New York Based company). I could get a letter from my boss stating I work in JC if that would help though...) I've been doing the train/light rail for the last 6 months and its so expensive ($400/month!) and time consuming (I live in Central Jersey and would cut at least 45 minutes off my commuting each day by driving!) Anyway - Does anyone have a suggest for the best option for me?
