I think either the reporter or editor accidentally left out the paragraph describing the victim's account of the shooting.

Shot in Heights

Jersey Journal - Wednesday, March 28, 2007

A 24-year old Jersey City woman was shot Sunday night while she was walking with her boyfriend in Washington Park, police said.

Cops said the victim was shot once in the right hip and transported in a taxi to Christ Hospital, where she was treated.

Strangely, the victim's account of the incident differed that of her boyfriend when the pair was questioned by cops.

The boyfriend stated that after the victim complained of pain in her right hip, he saw a male in a baseball cap, jacket, and blue jeans, and chased after him for a while before going back to tend to the victim, police said.

It wasn't until cops confronted the victim about the discrepancy between her version of events and that of her boyfriend that she changed her story to affirm her boyfriend's account, police said.
