What is the primal/paleo lifestyle?

It looks to me like Jimmy is using Lifestyle and Diet interchangeably. Did you read the wiki link that GP provided below? I thought it was pretty informative.

Ahab: As VA2015 points out, you can find "adult play ground equipment" in LSP. Each "station" has placards explaining how to use the equipment, and the proper form, etc. The equipment doesn't seem to get much use during the week, but I always someone there on weekends. Instead of going out to Tompkins, you could run down to LSP, turn into Freedom Way and, about a mile in, you will find the equipment.

There is a course designed for this exactly along the jogging path in Liberty State park.

Slightly related--Anyone read the body-weight book, Convict Conditioning?

It's sorta Paleo since it eschews the gym and focuses on calisthenics (simple movements without weights).

I was hoping to meet others interested (and more knowledgeable) in the workouts, perhaps even meeting-up at a DT park.

Side gripe-- I wish we had adult "play ground' equipment in our parks for pull-ups, dips, etc. I currently take the train to Tompkins Square Park (a long time body weight meet-up mecca).

Jimmy - I haven't tried this service myself, but they'll deliver paleo meals to your door, or you can go to one of the pick-up spots in JC and Hoboken.

Many of the items available, including the meat, are seasonal and fresh from the farmers and producers, so pricing and availability can change weekly, though there's always a very good selection at lower than you'd pay for something comparable at WF or a specialty store.

During the orientation, you get the opportunity to see the most current offerings and pricing. As a group, we buy directly from the distributors and producers and working together makes the savings on the goods possible. Attending a session helps to explain how it all works.

JC Food Co-op has pastured and grass-fed and finished meat, poultry, eggs and dairy from local farmers, in case you're interested in a good selection from somewhere closer than Whole Foods.

I had to look it up --
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paleolithic_diet

I would think there is plenty for you -- but you might have to order "off-menu"
