She has been MIA during Sandy. I'm voting Coleman.

Seriously what has Michelle Massey done for us? Most of her Ward is in the dark, cold, and hungry right now. Just remember that on Tuesday at the polls.

Vote for Coleman.

Didn't lift a finger even when a few thousand of us who were formerly in Ward E and now (unfortunately) in Ward F got assigned polling places a mile or more from our homes. Massey couldn't be reached by phone and didn't return messages or e-mails.

Her defensive and unhelpful "aid" simply directed calls to the Board of Elections (the same idiots who supposedly made this "mistake" in the first place even though it was a blatently-deliberate attempt at vote suppression). Steve Fulop was working his butt off to communicate with everyone but he has zero control over the BoE.

Massey has so far given the impression that she's as useful as a screen door on a submarine. Wish she would wouldn't waste our time even running. She and Healy might want to start working on a job search, 'cause people in JC (especially those of us who've been here for decades) have had it with this pitiful excuse for government and change is coming...

Massey re-elected as Ward F council person? You've got to be kidding? Sure that Healy would be thrilled! Did she even lift a finger with the latest election???????????? Not that I saw.

Jersey City Ward F Councilwoman Michele Massey, who was appointed to the nine-member body last December, said she will "absolutely" run in a special election this November to remain in the seat until the 2013 city race.

Massey was appointed to replace Viola Richardson, who vacated her Ward F spot when she won election as an at-large councilwoman in November 2011.

Massey's appointment is temporary until voters this November decide on Richardson's replacement. But Massey said it would be "crazy" for Ward F to have another council person before the citywide race next year.

"The ward shouldn't have to through a third council person in one term," she said. "And if that is the case, via a vote, then c'est la vie."

Richardson, who did not receive Mayor Jerramiah Healy's endorsement for her November run and has been adversarial to the mayor since then, originally pushed hard for Massey's appointment, though relations between the two women have reportedly become frostier.

In her five months on the council, Massey has cast votes that have pleased the mayor and his administration. She voted against a failed push to have Richardson replace Healy ally Peter Brennan as the council's president, while voting last week in favor of the city's failed bid to name Police Chief Tom Comey as police director.

Asked to comment, Healy declined to say he's endorsing Massey, while praising her as an "excellent advocate" for her community.

"She's on top of the issues and she has been a strong and independent voice on the council, always conducting herself with the utmost integrity and dignity," he said. "I look forward to sitting down and talking with her in person about the special election in November."

Candidates who wish to run in the November special election have until Sept. 4 to file petitions with the Hudson County Clerk.Resized Imagehttp://www.nj.com/hudson/index.ssf/20 ... _council_re.html#comments
