I would just take the GWB to River rd and follow it all the way down. I never really had any traffic problems on River rd.

We take the Tpk. Here's a BZ secret: park in the lot by the childrens zoo rather than in the butt end of nowhere by the bison that all the directions send you to. There the kids are already exhausted by the time you walk to anything good, and forget about the walk back.

Can anybody recommend the best route from Bronx Zoo back to DTJC on Sat/Sun afternoons? Last time I took 9A in NYC, it was okay in the morning but terrible in the afternoon. I assume GWB is better? After that should I take Turnpike South or River Rd along the river?
