Besides all the places mentioned below, if you know people who live in Crystal Point / The Pier / Liberty Towers / 77 Hudson or anything similar, you (probably your friend, actually) could reserve the party room in those buildings for the event, and most of them have nice views.

That would be a cheaper option, but you'll need to get catering and potentially tables and such.

Liberty House and Maritime are beautiful venues, though definitely are on the pricier side!

My family threw me a baby shower at the Melting Pot in Hoboken last year and I was pretty pleased! They also considered Amelia's (no view since the party room is downstairs but they have good food!) Skylark on the Hudson (nice party room, good food, close to the water but no real water views). The Merchant has really nice options as well. I know Skinner's does parties like this too.

I've seen showers at Grand Banks, as well.

There are lots of great options in JC for this number of people! Good luck!

Liberty House has a great view and a few different options as to where you can host the event, such as a banquet area and a beautiful outdoor space overlooking the NYC skyline: http://www.libertyhouserestaurant.com/

If you're looking for a hipper location that's part art gallery, party restaurant/lounge, LITM rents out their restaurant area: http://litm.com/

GP's Hamilton Park is another great venue. They have outdoor seating that overlooks the park, as well as an upscale interior with Italian bistro feel: http://gpsrestaurant.com/

Seems like Maritime sounds like a winner!

I don't know a place next to Maritime that's Asian Fusion? I only know of Liberty House.

We had my son's Christening party at Maritime Parc. It was awesome! Food, service, view, etc. was all fantastic. Also, plenty of easy parking for the suburbanites who freak at the thought of parallel parking.

Thanks all, yes parking is an issue. 99% of the guests will not be walking there....

Appreciate it :)

My wife did the top floor at Maritime Parc. Had about 40 people. I forget if they had a minimum number of guests, but I would recommend checking it out. If you have a large number of people driving into town, having the parking is ideal.

No views, but the Light Horse Tavern has a nice room for a baby shower.

we had ours at the merchant.
the back room is nice, and they let you decorate.
and it is reasonable with a good buffet.

Hi! I'm helping my friend plan her baby shower and I'm at a loss of ideas of where to have it. Her ideas are Maritime and Chart House so far. It will be between 35-45 guests, but she only wants to guarantee 35. She'd like to have a nice room, a nice view would be great, but a large enough space where there is room for all guests and a gift table etc.

I'm hoping some of you have some advice on where to look, I want to make sure this is an amazing day for her!

Thanks :)
