I grew up in the burbs of Cleveland and was recently there visiting. Their roads are actually worse than here.

I get at least 1 flat tire here a year, but that is mainly due to nails!

as that particular piece of NJ roadway might not be very good, as a person who has driven all over the country i think that New jersey actually has some of the best and most well maintained roads..in my experience south carolina is the worst ( at least it is along 95)

In it's ugly way, it is the most beautiful thing in the Northeast...I've often thought about that first black arch as the entrance to Hell.

It's got that certain mix of ugly and beauty that is hard to find anywhere else.

It is dangerous to drive and though it's been a while for me I still have the white knuckles to prove it.

It is UNIQUE!

NY Times article on local infrastructure focuses on the Pulaski Skyway.

Quote:
Of all the tattered swaths of pavement that pock the New York area?s road system, home to some of the country?s most bone-rattling stretches of asphalt, few can match the combination of structural disrepair and functional obsolescence of the Pulaski Skyway.
