I live (and work from home) on 9th/Manila where the cops are ticketing drivers who don't make the full stop driving south on Manila T-corner @9th.

A lot of the stops they make are on those buses.

i agree that the city should be ruthless in making sure that t vans are insured, safe....the vans should raise prices to cover their increased costs.

Yes, this just happened to me last Friday too. I've only taken the van once from the Heights to downtown about 4 months ago without a hitch, but this time the driver kicked me out at Journal Square. I ended walking on Newark towards Grove St. It's weird considering the sign on the van says Journal Square/Newport.

I use the dollar vans a lot to get from the Heights to downtown and back again. It used to be quick and reliable, but recently I have noticed the following and wondered if anyone had any information on either:
1) Within the past six months there are fewer and fewer of them to the point that many of them don't have available seats by the time they get to Grove Street
2) Many of them only go as far as Journal Square. This started happening about a year ago?now I have to ask them before I get on, whereas before that all of them went down to Newport and then looped back again.
