Registered Mail = This is a special way that only the USPS uses of sending mail that makes every single person who touches your package sign for it, Its not fool proof, but USPS will be accountable if something goes wrong along the way (opened or lost).

I'm not 100% sure, but its a felony offence to tamper with the mail - But it only applies to USPS and not Fedex or other courier services

Like sending back food in a restaurant who knows whats lurking on your plate when you get it back. I would speak to the manager of the post office in your zip code, the one who over sees your mail carrier. I've had problems with the mail when I moved years ago, after I spoke up problem solved. A matter of fact that mailman was fired seems that he kept screwing up his deliveries.

I haven't had good luck the last two times I asked for my mail to be held. The first time, the confirmed mail hold was just completely ignored. The second time, it was partially held, but the accumulated mail was delivered before it was suppose to be, and there is mail missing that I confirmed with the senders was sent. I even spoke to our mail person face to face about the most recent request to make sure she knew about it. That's the JC post office for you.

Arrive back with a stuffed mailbox. I had the confirmation email that they would be holding it. I guess they figure my mailbox is big enough to be its own hold.

Just a bit of frustration for shit service, and a warning not to expect your mail to be held for you.
