Because they haven't been getting together at all this week at school or the playground, but staying in all week.

Not to be Debbie Downer, but is this event such a good idea, given the flu hysteria?

Not suggesting all the hoopla is warranted, but it seems like an odd time to be intentionally organizing bunches of kids in one place, even if it's outdoors.

I hope they include the need for gloves for any wheeled activity for kids. The first thing in most cases from what I have seen around my neighborhood to hit the ground, is their hands - road / gravel / cement rash ain't funny - even skin missing to the bone when a kid is cruising and crashes !

Do we have a link for any brochures on those topics for kid safety?

Passing this on: There will be a Child Safety Event held by the JCPD Community Relations Unit on Saturday May 2 from 12 noon to 4 pm. The location is the Target Store lot off Washington Street. There will be Bicycle and Skateboarding safety and fun demonstrations with public participation. Also, there will be child Identification fingerprinting and child car seat safety checks and installations. Please join us for a fun and informative event.. jcpd event
