His prices are reasonable and the road trip is 50 minutes door to door at the Pound Ridge location. He does very Communipaw that does furniture repair. I think there is a thread somewhere on JCList with his info.

So you don't want the job done by "hacks", on antiques over 100 years old, but you don't want to pay professional prices and you're only willing to travel within a small local radius?

We have a 19th century dining set from my wife's grandmother of which the chairs are ridiculously fragile. Has anyone used a real craftsman of this stuff, not hack? The hacks have already worked on them, and they've rebroken.
