Subzero has had serious quality control issues in recent years with their refrigerators.

friends in Italy have a row of small fridges that run the length of one countertop. one of them's a dedicated freezer. they seem to be more popular over there.

We got a Fischer & Paykel into our challenging entry restrictions. Our model has a bottom freezer. We have had it for about four years and haven't had any problems. It has an EZCLean surface that is awesome.

We did look at the Liebherr refrigerators, too. They were beautiful. For some reason, the dimensions didn't work for us.

You should look for counter depth fridges these tend to be narrow. When I was looking for a new fridge last year I was considering this category, but they tend to be more expensive less energy efficient and not as reliable. Whirlpool makes reliable fridges, they also make Kitchenaid and several other brand name fridges I bought a standard depth Whirlpool Gold bottom freezer fridge.

Can anyone recommend a narrow or shallow fridge with bottom freezer that can get up to the third floor of an old downtown house. I've found four makers:
Summit
Blomberg
Subzero
Liebherr

Are there others?

Anyone have experience with these - capacity and performance more important than price.
