seems like there should be a better way in the modern age to let citizens know of these things. 311 in NYC is good, but still relies on the user to call them which most people simply cant be bothered with.
They should have an option that the city allows people to register to online which will send an automatic text or email to each user to let them know when garbage pickup/alternate side parking, etc. are suspended.

Just can't stay away

Apparently the message wasn't clear about no garbage pickup last night. I'd say 75% of my block put their can out. Trash everywhere. So does this mean garbage collection that was to take place last night will happen tonight or is it pushed to the next normal garbage night?

Storm-related garbage and recreation suspension 1/23/17
TRASH AND RECYCLING COLLECTION FOR THIS EVENING JANUARY 23, 2017 WILL BE SUSPENDED DUE TO THE IMPENDING STORM AND HIGH WINDS THERE IS NO SPECIAL SCHEDULED COLLECTION. RESIDENTS ARE TO PLACE THEIR TRASH AND OR RECYCLING CURBSIDE ON THEIR NEXT COLLECTION DAY http://www.cityofjerseycity.com/ I'm surprised high rise construction was still going on as of this morning.
