I will be out of town for the mayoral election but I was wondering who I contact about an absentee ballot - I didn't see anything on the Hudson County clerk's site regarding the mayor's race nor on the City of Jersey City site so I'm not sure whose jurisdiction this falls under.

This is why voting should be moved to Nov, the machine counts on most people not being around to vote.
I know at least 8 people who will not be here to vote in May.

You probably will not get your ballot on time. Call the County Clerk, Division of Elections (201-369-3470 option 6)) and ask them how to handle it. Once the ballot is finalized you should be able to vote "by mail" in person at the County offices.

While there is a deadline for submitting your vote, there is no indication as to when the County will mail out ballots. If one is out of the country from Mid-April through Mid-May (election 5/14), is there any chance the ballot will get to them before mid-April departure?
Anyone in this situation before?
