Woman says toy she purchased at 99-cents store in Jersey City exploded
Print By Ken Thorbourne The Jersey Journal April 16, 2013 A woman said a toy she purchased at a 99cents store on the Jersey City/Bayonne border exploded tonight. A woman who identified herself as "Andea" told The Jersey Journal tonight that a toy she purchased at a 99-cents store on the Jersey City/Bayonne border exploded when she handed it to her 7-year-old daughter in a car outside the store. According to witnesses, there has been a massive police and fire response to the store at 2 Garfield Ave. in Jersey City. Over the phone, the woman could be heard speaking with Jersey City emergency responders. The woman told The Jersey Journal that she and her daughter are OK physically but her daughter is very scared. The toy, she said, looked like a small ball. A police spokesman was gathering information about the incident. http://goo.gl/maps/CMvl5
