That was like 5 blocks to the district... they couldnt have called for back up and nabbed at least one of them? If the thugs dont fear they are going to get chased and possibly caught, they will keep doing it..

Large mob beats man in Jersey City with sticks and bottles

Monday, January 31, 2011

Responding to a report of a fight at 12:21 a.m. Saturday, Jersey City cops saw a large crowd beating a Union City man with sticks and bottles at Central Avenue and North Street, reports said.

As cops approached, the roughly 20 attackers fled in all directions, reports said.

The victim, who was bleeding heavily from a cut on his forehead, was taken to the Jersey City Medical Center and later released, reports said.

Police later found out that a number of the people who were beating the victim had just left a party on Irving Street near Central Avenue and a resident at that dwelling was issued a fine for maintaining a nuisance, police said.

Anyone with information about this incident, is asked to contact the Jersey City Police Department at (201) 547-JAIL.
