So all you have to do to deter these scum bags is peak your head into the hallway or give them eye contact?....and everyone thought criminals were violent.

What a joke of an article !!!

When a Jersey City Heights man startled two would-be burglars Thursday, the pair took off running down Central Avenue, officials said.

The 68-year-old man, who lives near Central Avenue and South Street, told police he heard noise coming from downstairs but thought it was his son returning home, reports said.

When the man heard loud footsteps coming up the stairs, he looked out his door and saw two strangers, reports said.

The two men then ran out of the building and up Central Avenue to South Street. Two witnesses described them as being in their 20s and standing about 5 feet 6 inches tall, reports said.
