That is definitely good news. It's too bad we have to wait until next year, but better than nothing.

Good job. We can't have a light at every corner, but that's certainly a much busier intersection than many intersections in the Heights that have lights, and it's a popular route for children going from Newport to P.S. 37 and Golden Door.

I wrote a complaint about how hazardous it was to cross Marin Blvd, hmm probably about 5 months ago. I just received this response from Jersey City Online Help Center <action@jcnj.org>. See folks it does help to complain to the City about certain things.
9.5.08 In the recent past speed limit signs and pedestrian warning and crossing signs have been installed. Also be advised, the Department of Transportation has authorized the installation of a traffic signal at Marin Blvd & 9th St. The traffic signal has been funded in the FY2009 package and construction is scheduled to commence in Spring 2009.
On 4/7/2008 3:22:40 PM, Jersey City Online Help Center sent:
The Investigator for this area will survey the location to determine what signs and/or pavement markings are needed to safeguard the pedestrians.
