Sounds like dumb & dumber LOL
I was also thinking, that must of been one strong extension cord.
"A witness said that two thieves placed the ATM into the rear of a Jeep" Soo did this witness get a licence plate number?

Thieves get away with grocery's ATM - almost
Thursday, February 12, 2009

A couple of absent-minded thieves almost got away with stealing an ATM from a Jersey City grocery store early yesterday morning, reports said.

But the caper - and the cash machine - collapsed when they forgot to unhook the ATM from an extension cord, reports said.

Responding to a report of a robbery at Garfield and Gates avenues at 1 a.m., police found the ATM in the middle of Gates Avenue and the roll-down security gates of a grocery store up, reports said.

A witness said that two thieves placed the ATM into the rear of a Jeep, but apparently forgot to roll up the extension cord that was attached to the machine, reports said.

When the thieves tried to make a quick getaway, the cord got stuck in the front door of the store and the machine crashed onto the pavement, report said.

No money was missing from the ATM and the store's cash register appeared untouched, reports said.

To enter the store, the burglars cut a padlock and smashed a window, police said.
