Monday, February 09, 2009 Jersey Journal MICHAELANGELO CONTE When a Jersey City Heights man startled two would-be burglars Thursday, the pair took off running down Central Avenue, officials said. The 68-year-old man, who lives near Central Avenue and South Street, told police he heard noise coming from downstairs but thought it was his son returning home, reports said. When the man heard loud footsteps coming up the stairs, he looked out his door and saw two strangers, reports said. The two men then ran out of the building and up Central Avenue to South Street.
