Unless you have a picture how will you really know? The descriptions they give are so vague to begin with I really don't understand why people get their panties in a bunch.

apparently, its racist to include the race of the attacker, even if it greatly narrows down who it may be.

Hey, Jersey Journal editors: you left out one part of the description...again!

Jersey City commuter punched and dragged but thwarts robbery: cops

by Michaelangelo Conte/The Jersey Journal
Thursday October 30, 2008, 6:56 PM

A Jersey City man walking to work this morning was punched in the face and dragged into an alley but he managed to fight off the robber, reports said.

The 32-year-old victim said he was walking on Kennedy Boulevard near Stuyvesant Avenue at 6:35 a.m. when a man ran down from a porch and punched him in the face, reports said.

The man demanded money and dragged the victim into an alley while repeatedly punching him in the face, reports said.

But once in the alley the victim fought back and the would-be robber ran away empty-handed.

The mugger headed south on the Boulevard, reports said.

The victim man suffered a swollen left eye, a cut above his left eye and a possible broken nose, reports said, adding that he was taken to the Jersey City Medical Center for treatment.

The robber was described at about 20 years old and 5 feet 6 inches tall, reports said. He was of thin build and had no facial hair. He was wearing a black "hoodie" jacket, black jeans and sneakers, reports said.
