She's known in the area and most owners cross the street when they see her coming. She's carelss and irresponsible with her pack. Be careful as one of the dogs have attacked on previous occassions. I've called Animal Control, but by the time they arrive, she's already gone. I believe she lives quite close so she it hasn't been easy to catch her.

Also, I believe she considers herself a "breeder". Not sure if I know anyone who would take one of her dogs.

I believe the pipeline requires compresssors to push the gas through. When we watched the film, they showed the amount of gas seeping from the compressor which is hazardous to anyone's health. The film does not just speak of fracting, but the total process of extracting natural gas.

I encourage everyone to watch it as it was completely and utterly shocking to us.

When I moved, the moving company offered to get the permits for us. Check with them to see if they can get them, then you can post them yourself.

If not, then you'll need to go to the Parking Authority and purchase them. You'll need to post 24 hours prior to moving.

Good luck with your move!

I noticed a sign for NJ Kickboxing next to Next Step Broadway near Hamilton Park. I checked out the website and wondered has anyone tried the Cardio Kickboxing class?

It would've been nice for the throng of kids who were playing in the volleyball court to pick up their trash as well. We went in this morning to clean up some of their mess, but it's appalling that the 2nd day of the park being opened and some kids still have no respect for their parks/surroundings.

Last night I mentioned to them, "please don't forget to pick up your trash...ENJOY as well!" and all I got were snickers from the crowd. Although the basketball court has been an area on contention, we, as a community, need to try and instill some respect from the area kids. It may be a lost cause, but at least we can try.

thanks for the quick reply.

May I ask why one whole quandrant of the park is not being touched at all? and why the dog runs are right next to tennis courts? Could they not be one on either sides of the park? Seems like all changes are on one half of the park.

I got an awful haircut months ago and refuse to ever go back. I don't even want to go through the whole story, but let's say when one is having a consult they should NOT be talking to their friend and a client shouldn't ask for "focus"!

We're extremely interested in a 2 bedroom unit in the Sutton Building. Has anyone negotiated a price with them? When we met with sales they told us that the prices were not firm so there was room to negotiate, but wondering by what percentage? We're looking to offer about 4-5% below what they're asking for. Is this reasonable or should we be offering less/more than that?

I'm actually making an appointment for Thursday to check out 2 bedrooms. Our lease runs out on 11/1, so we're hoping we can find something within our price range rather than renting any further.

I have one friend who lives there currently and she's extremely happy. She loves the amenities and her Viking stove .

This sounds like same delivery guy. Glad to hear the UPS took my complaints seriously and he's still delivering. Karma will come back to him.Quote:

The 3rd Street UPS delivery guy is an asshat. For a few weeks the doorbell wasn't working, but was expecting a package. After the first failed attempt, when we discovered the doorbell was out, the driver had checked off 2pm to 5pm as the next possible delivery attempt. We left a note with a phone number on the door. That next attempted delivery was 1:15, forty five minutes before the scheduled time, and of course, no attempt to call. The delivery slip then was checked for 2pm to 7pm-- two delivery periods. My better half spent the entire afternoon at the window watching for the truck. At 7:30 pm, UPS still hadn't shown up. We were on our way out when I drove around the block saw a UPS truck from two blocks away-- at 7:45. Well done UPS.
[...]

My past UPS drivers have all been great, but today at 10:30AM, driver buzzes, I tell him "two flights up, apt x" and he says, "no you gotta come down here and sign for it". I tell him apart from my being on crutches, etc that drivers are supposed to deliver to place of residence, not just building. He says, "look if you don't come down I'm just gonna leave a notice". So now I'm really pissed and after I tell him I've got UPS dispatcher on the phone (I didn't) he comes up. I ask him his name, he refuses to give it to me and after I assure him I will be filing a complaint beyond his supervisor level but to corporate in Atlanta, he smirks and says: "Thanks for using UPS"

So for future reference here is some local contact info:

This was my first experience with a rude UPS guy. I've also had friendly delivery people - no matter which service.

The best part about it was that I bumped into my neighbor and said that UPS tried to deliver a package to him. A sticky note was never left on the door for him and he's been waiting over a week for the delivery. I told him he should and check to see how many times they've attempted and ensure that it's not being returned to sender.

He tried to deliver last night. Buzzed our apt 5 times and we answered each time. He wouldn't tell us which apt he was looking for. Told us to come downstairs or we weren't getting our package (we weren't expecting a delivery).

Tonight - buzzes another 5 times. Yells through the intercom that we've got a package and to just come downstairs. I go downstairs to check the package myself. Read the name and it's my neighbor. He proceeds to wave his hand and dismiss me. No apology for buzzing multiple times or being extremely rude through the intercom.

Possibly the same man, since he wore glasses, but could not tell if he was Hispanic.

This deliveryman didn't realize that he was at the wrong building after buzzing my apt 5 times and waved me away with his hand, since he realized his mistake.

Has anyone in the Harsimus Cove area interacted with the new RUDE UPS delivery man? I live on 5th Street and have never met a UPS delivery person as rude as this.

I actually was so shocked I called UPS to complain. I hated doing it, but I didn't want anyone else to deal with him.

landlord help needed

Not too shy to talk

I've been renting my apt for 4 years now and my landlord is NOT easy to work with. When I moved in, I never had my apt painted, although I was promised it would be. SO with that said, I am weary of ever asking for updates to be made.

My apt is on the top floor of an old walk up and in the summer it's SO unbearable. I found out that my neighbor downstairs had a ceiling fan installed when she moved in. Of course I'm interested in getting one, but just the idea of asking makes me nervous. What's the best tactic on trying to ask for one? I know it's a random question, but any advice is much appreciated.
