Re: General Questions About the Heights

Yep, in the 3 years I lived on Palisade Ave, my car got vandalized THREE times on that very block of Ogden (between Griffith and Bower). I think it's a targeted area, cuz it's off the main road, and the cops don't sit out there and monitor it like they used to.

Absolutely no excuse for that Tokyo vid....they're asking for deaths there.

PATH really isn't bad compared to NYC subways....the 6 is ridiculous to the point I will kill time for hours to avoid the rush hour on one of those. The PATH can be annoying at times and overcrowded, but at least we don't have the Port Authority shoving us in.

Delivery pizzas from Stella's have usually been pretty good. The re-heated slice on the go, not so much....but not so bad that I avoid it while in a hurry. Only other complaint i had with them is their lasagna is consistently cold in the middle....they never heat it long enough.

Yes, this has happened to me as well. As for the original ticket, consider too that some smartass may have removed it for fun. One time i found a ticket placed on my car that was for a similar model car, but clearly the wrong color. Some idiot probably hoped I wouldn't notice it and would pay their fine for them. Nice try. lol I looked HARD at that ticket, cuz I KNEW my car was legally parked.

Yeah that happened about 3 year years ago, at that very bar, and led to a murder on my front doorstep...quite literally.....someone needs to keep tabs on that freaking place.

Yeah, my convertible top has been destroyed on two different occasions when I lived in the heights....even tho the windows come out with the flick of a zipper, they still wanna tear up the stitching and knife the windows....grrrr.....

And of course both times, stole nothing.

Yeah, I thought it was the defense that waived a jury trial...which IMO was a stupid thing to do. If I were in their shoes (and this is assuming Sean Bell really was behaving himself, of course), I'd WANT a jury of peers, not a judge who can be bought, influenced, and biased by the city.

My understanding is that you CAN park up until 8am and after 5pm on weekdays without a permit. My best friend spends half the damn week with me, and hasn't gotten a ticket or a boot yet?
I thought the contrary until someone told me different, and then I actually read the street signs that seem to indicate so.

Anyone know different?

Yeah, I drove up that serpentine road not more than 3 weeks ago....it's still there and still open.
I watched this place develop day by day over the last two years....they stripped the whole building and left nothing but the facade and built back around it....maybe just enough to be able to call it "historic lofts".....
Seriously, I lived on Palisade right by Fiske park for about three years, and I'd say the crime is getting worse....hence I left. My car was vandalized / broken into at least 3 times while parked on Ogden. There was a murder in front of my house. There are seed bags littering the street moreso than I've ever seen them.
Now at the bottom of the hill, on the other side of the light rail you're looking straight at the projects too. It's also on the tracks and next to a sheet metal recycling center or something like that.
If you need quick access to Hoboken, it's damn convenient, and I'm sure the place is just dandy on the inside. Just know what you're getting into if you're gonna spend a half mil. That's my perspective from a 3 year resident.

Yeah, I live on Mercer street, and they come here between 12:30 and 1 am, usually. They wake me up every time, including recycle nights....so three nights a week of being woken up. Of course my bedroom window faces the street, but what can I do?
