Re: Need advice - car blocking my driveway for 2 days

Sorry - was traveling today. I've told them a car is blocking my spot and I have to get to work. They've never told me what they did you and have always been responsive. I'm in the Heights tho, different precinct (not that it should matter). Let them also know that the car has multiple tickets - keyword "Abandoned or Stolen" that will do it!

I've always waited with the JCPD together for the tow. Usually takes about an hour. In the 16 years I've owned, I think they've towed 3 that we couldn't locate the owners. I always tell them I have to get to work and ask when the tow truck can be there and never had a problem with it. Call the cops, not the parking authority.

Not sure if it's this issue but if it is in terms of "other derogatory terms regarding our sexuality" please contact the GLBT liason within the JCPD. He is very helpful when others are not, and this should always be reported.

Agree with Dragon above, was there for a few yesterday. Nice mix of people. Very clean and they are trying. Nice addition to the Heights.

If you don't find one - try to park on Brunswick between 9th and 10th - it's Zone free.

There's another site similar to this for people renting out rooms/sofa's etc that a friend was telling me about, that they use and I cannot remember it. This one is near central/private room in a house...

http://www.roomft.com/search_results_ ... &yy=0&nights=-1&x=65&y=21

If I think of the other site I will post.

I bought on Webster/Hutton in 1999, and really like the street. It's a pretty good neighborhood (not without it's crime) but I've never really felt unsafe, even when walking the dogs very late-night. Our building has cameras recording the happenings inside and out on Webster and Hutton.

We have 28 condos in our building, many with children/babies who all enjoy our homes.

I wonder if anyone has ever contacted the Mayor's Action Bureau about this intersection? Years ago after seeing accidents every weekend here in the Heights I contacted them, they did a study and we got traffic lights within 6 months at Webster & Hutton. (I did something similar about street corner garbage cans and we got those in about 3 weeks).

Hopefully they are still responsive.

This list says that Pershing Field has it still: http://www.jcnj.com/parks.shtml

I know they had an area in Riverview-Fisk Park too but it was always locked and they've probably gotten rid of it by now.

It includes a pair of Sikorsky S-76 helicopters, one purchased new in 2003, and valued at $6.3 million, and a 1984 model that could fetch between $1.9 million and $2.9 million, according to the agency analysis.

Seems pricey.

I hope you love it in the Heights. We bought on the corner of Webster/Hutton back in 99 and like it here alot. It has it's rough spots and it's definitely city dwelling so you gotta be aware of your surroundings, but it's gotten so much better in the last 8 years and we look forward to seeing it through the next years to come.

There are alot of great people up here...families, singles, everything...Alot of owner occupied homes that really do care about the neighborhood. Unfortunately the streets are still pretty dirty and can look rough sometimes, but we're doing alot to correct that.

Welcome to the neighborhood! There are a couple organisations (historical, neighborhood watch, etc) around here you might want to become part of and you can always join us at the Community garden in Fisk park in the Spring (well there are a couple evil ones in there too...but...) =)

Really welcome...you'll love it I think!
