"The ticket is already printed" is my favorite. I too have an "off" schedule whereby I leave early and get home pretty late and struggle to park. There's no solution.

Anybody have experiences with talking to the Parking Authority/local govt about issues affecting the availability of parking? Basically on First St on the block between Marin/Manila, the Enterprise Rent-a-Car has started using the street to park rental cars and box trucks. In addition to that, there's a significant stretch of red curb marked as a loading zone in front of a business that is no longer open. It amounts to about 10-15 spots that are regularly unavailable on that street, which given the amount of time I spend driving around looking for a place to park, is pretty rough to see.

has anyone else experinced this ?

I haven't experienced exactly this, but I live at the corner of 1st and Marin on the side closer to Newport and was given a pass for Zone 5, which kind of blew my mind because my actual building (as well as every street that it touches) is in Zone 4.

I guess when they were establishing parking zones they chose a range of addresses and didn't bother to actually see where they were.

That rings true - I've never understood the "CC as a gateway to the Tunnel" concept, as even a moderate level of traffic moving that way leads to terrible backups at the lights on Marin, particularly that first one (is that Steuben?).

I've actually started turning off of CC as soon as possible and using Newark or another road to get where I'm going when I come back into/leave downtown. The section from about Jersey up to Monmouth is literally undriveable.

I used to live on Jersey Ave but I was never able to actually park on my block because the city put parking meters there. That was a coin-operated amusement of a sort.
