Re: Mayor Healy says voters don't care about naked photos

Interesting but I think you give the Healy campaign strategists too much credit. I believe that Healy just f'd up and said something incredibly stupid. Maybe due to lack of sleep or stress. I'm voting for Steven Fulop because he's a very effective councilman, and will do a great job running the city. Healy had 8 two terms. Based on his poor performance, time for him to move on.

I am starting to get suspicious about this whole photo flap... Why would Healy dredge this story back up 2 weeks before the election? It is not one of his better moments as Mayor or in his personal life. The pro / anti incumbent vote is a lock... so that leaves undecided? Do not know what the % is but he must have some research that says corruption thing will hurt and this naked story will knock that story off the news... The % vote will look at this story as another "old fashion sex scandal"??? and write it off?

Healy asked the county to initiate the reval process. ONce the county gave the city the go-ahead, the Council had to vote on the resolution to approve the contract for the firm conducting the reval. I doubt that Fulop voted to approve that resolution.

The flyer is real and what I take away from it is that Fulop will work to stop the reval for now. I think that the entire process is be tainted, as already mentioned in this thread. Also, you can't look at these mailings as a primary source of information. This one wasn't so clear, and Healy's mailings on the other hand, are pretty much total rubbish.

Unlike Councilboy Stevie, MAYOR Healy has a record to run on. He's done a great job in difficult times. He's added police and kept the streets safe. He's held property taxes down. He's overseen great economic development not just downtown but everywhere. And when Sandy hit, who was it that was actually making the city work, protecting lives and property? Not Stevie boy, but MAYOR Healy. And unlike Stevie, He's got a wife and kids and grandkids WHO LIVE IN JERSEY CITY!

Here's how this election is going down. All you do-gooders and dreamers downtown don't know how to run a campaign. You talk youself to death about how terrible our MAYOR is, and still nobody downtown will bother to vote.

MAYOR Healy has built up a lifetime of credibility with the REAL voters of Jersey City. They've got lives and don't bother with all this crap, but they will show up to vote, and send Stevie boy and all you wannabees back home to whereever it is you came from.

Do you really think that name calling will strengthen your cause? I assume you're letting off some steam. You come off from your posts as being a bully and a jerk. I understand your frustration. The recent Healy candidates - council and BOE have been smoked in recent elections. Good luck...but I hope that the entire healy team loses.

I think this would be a poor use of resources. There are real threats (crime) every day at light rail stations in other parts of the city.
If anything, those stations could use beefed up security.

Statistically, Newport has close to zero crime.Quote:

The amazing thing is, Healy may just pull it off and win. About half of voters on May 14th WILL come out and vote for Healy. I hope it's a little (or a lot) less than half.

Let your friends and neighbors know about this election. We are so close to establishing good government in Jersey City!

This is truly scary. How do you think that $40,000 is being raised and from who? Healy, who lagged behind Fulop in fundraising for the whole campaign cycle, suddenly finds a magic pipeline of money.

BTW, Craig Guy in the background there, Healy's 2009 campaign manager, who presided over all the Bid Rig ?fundraising?? You find out some amazing things if you just Google "Craig Guy Jersey City".

It only took the second day, and technically the first few hours of the third, for the Jersey City contingent to make themselves known at the League of Municipalities Conference in Atlantic City.?According to some present, about 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, in the Borgata hotel and casino's Gypsy Bar, a "physical" confrontation broke out. The star of the day seemed to be Jersey City Corporation Counsel Bill Matsikoudis. Also present were Carl Czaplicki, Mayor Jerramiah Healy's chief of staff, city Business Administrator Brian O'Reilly, Jersey City Councilman Bill Gaughan, the grandfatherly chief of staff for County Executive Tom DeGise, and Craig Guy, former police officer and another DeGise assistant.?

7. Craig Guy and Harold ?Bud? Demellier
Craig Guy and Harold E. Demellier Jr. are the Batman and Robin of Hudson County?s inner circles, both employees in Hudson County government who work their political magic behind the scenes. These two are the real power behind Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise, who often lends out their services to political allies. Guy, for instance, once worked as campaign manager for Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy, while Demellier was once lent to West New York after Sal Vega first became mayor. Guy, who sits on several county boards and is deputy chief of staff for DeGise, and Demellier, director of the county Department of Roads & Public Property, are in the brain trusts of several other key political figures, such as Bayonne Mayor Mark Smith.

I don't know who's going to win, but from now until election day I'm doing all that I can to help Fulop get elected. He's been a great ward E councilman, and will be a great mayor.

The only thing that should be flushed down the toilet is human waste and toilet paper, and certain cleaning powder/liquids. Anything else, even if it says flushable on the packaging, like feminine care products or cat litter should be avoided. Condoms, latex gloves, hair - from pets or human - paper towels as mentioned, can (and will) cause problems.

What may have been an innocent mistake about apt # they've turned Kafkaesque..

Wrong about the landlord. The lease clearly states which utilities are or are not included in the rent. Does it say that apartment #3 must pay the utilities for apartment #4? A complication is the tenant has a decent rent, and doesn't want to upset the landlord. The other tenant getting the reduced utility charges is very quiet - likely because they don't want to reimburse mdips. And PSE& G is less than helpful. Also, If you check the lease the Landlord has the right to enter the apartment if notice is provided.

The more that I think about this, work on the other tenant. Be nice and reasonable but persistent. If that doesn't work send a certified letter stating that you will be taking legal action (don't mention small claims court) since they are uncommunicative. Then if no response file a claim in small claims court. That will get their attention. And if the tenant moves out you will have to go after the landlord.

My bad, I thought Coleman, Lopez and Lavarro was on his ticket. So that would have been four no's against 3 yes, so that would have made a huge difference.
