Vigilante: Who proposed these "pet-free zones"? Half of the new Hamilton Park is already, obviously "pet-free". If they are talking about putting signs on the playground, basketball court and tennis courts then that's one thing. If not then basically someone is trying to whittle it down to 25% pet friendly versus 75% pet-free. I call bullshit on this one if that is the case. One half of One half is One quarter or 25% of the park. We already got duped on the design and now this?

Your math is a little funny here... So you don't factor the 2 dog runs into your % breakdown because you don't plan on using them? Why is the concept of a pet-free lawn so difficult for your dog obsessed brain to comprehend?

I can't wait until the off-leash tickets start being handed out. I will be sitting on the pet-free lawn... lmao!

Crystal Clean is the worst cleaning service I have ever used. They are surface cleaners at best with zero attention to detail. Awful experience! At $40-$50 per CLEANER per HOUR... they should be amazing and they are not!

I lived in Bayonne for 5 years on 34th btwn C & Blvd. I can honestly say that I felt very safe! I am a woman and at the time in my 20's. I jogged at night and never had a problem. It's a great location!!! Close to the LightRail, good bakery, great Polish deli, 7-Eleven etc.

Plus there is an awesome park on 38th & Blvd for jogging, rollerblading, easy biking... or just hanging out with a chair and a good book!

Carmine's is a much better choice. If you are going to get technichal with "brick oven" La Rustique and Grimaldi's are better choices.

GWB: "First of all, guilty until proven innocent".

Quote:
Leonardo Zayas engaged in conversations via the Internet, specifically chat and instant messaging, with who he believed was a 14-year-old girl. During the course of those conversations, Zayas initiated sexually explicit dialog. Zayas masturbated and transmitted those images via his web camera, and Zayas also instructed who he believed to be a 14-year-old female to masturbate. Additionally, Zayas requested to meet the presumed 14-year-old-girl for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity.

GWB you have got to be joking... In light of the PHYSICAL evidence of masturbation and transmitting images over the web- kind of hard to plead innocent on that one.

I strongly agree some form of speed deterrent needs to be put in place on Erie. I would like to see the police statistics of car accidents and their severity on Erie versus other areas of downtown.

In the short term, put in those Speed Tracking contraptions and start ticketing these speed demons!

When is the next council meeting?

Did you go on Thursday/Friday when they first opened or after? I went on Saturday and it was pretty warm.

The restaurant has Radiant Floor heating which takes hours and hours to heat a regular room. (I have radiant throughout my house) Maybe even days...given the size of that dining room. They may not be used to the controls yet. It's not like forced air heat that warms up quickly.

Personally, I feel that Jersey City offers more higher quality food options than our sister city Hoboken so I am not sure what your point is. BTW... these restaurants are ALL doing very well....

LightHorse Tavern
Porto Leggaro
Ox
Edward's
South City Grill
etc and growing...

If it's not your thing or your vibe- that is fine too! But to complain complain complain in a public forum is narrow-minded and getting old.

+1 Vanvorst

Some people on this site are all about Quantity and Cheap price as opposed to Quality of both products used and execution.

My husband and I enjoyed our dinner on Saturday night. Of course there are a few bumps in the road in the beginning (Friday was DAY 2!!) but the service was friendly and attentive and the food was good.

There are many offerings for the Quantity and Cheap Price Crowd:

Sava's
Buon Appetito
Taqueria
Sawadee
etc...

Or if these aren't good enough try an All You Can Eat Buffet...

?Quit yer bitchin? about new restaurants that add value to neighborhoods and make the area all the more appealing to the people in the neighborhood and those who will be filling the gluttony of luxury condos in this city.

Try parking in Hoboken even on the back streets. The area (for now) has a decent amount of street parking and is very convenient and easy to get to for people driving to JC from Hoboken, NYC, burbs... etc.

I would go to Lambertville / New Hope...

The Lambertville House is a nice hotel but the Lambertville Station Inn may be more "affordable". I would recommend having dinner at Hamilton Grill House which is off the Main Street of Lambertville down a little alley and located across from the Boat House bar. The Boathouse bar is an awesome place to have after dinner drinks (or pre-dinner). It is so romantic and cozy with a nice fireplace which would be perfect this time of year.

Both Lambertville and New Hope have many little shops to check out which are open year round. This may not be the case in the beach towns named. I could be wrong though...

I know the Lambertville Station Inn has special rate packages for Sunday night stays...

This place is called Ralph's Tire repair. They normally close at 6:00 but sometimes earlier- maybe dependent on weather. I would call them first to let them know you will be coming by after 5:00.

(201) 659-9212

Otherwise you can try Sears or BJ's.

Scooter/ Oturan

You guys are the joke! I have ZERO affiliation to Buon Appiteto except that I would frequent the location in Bayonne and was never disappointed plus they were always busy. Everyone cries that there are no "cheap" italian restauraunts in the area. Well now you have one.

Kill me because I like to eat! Probably 85% of my posts are about food and restaurants.

Oturan: what kind of multiple personality post did you have yesterday??? (see below) In the same post you say you don't want corporate coffee house types... and 3 lines later you say you wouldn't mind if a "Pret A Manager's" (sp?) opened up.

"I hate Starbucks! I haven't gone to one in 6-7 years. I hope more coffee houses sprout up hopefully not just the corporate types.

By the way Mrs. Fields coffee is a great deal better than Starbucks and cheaper. Also, the other day I tried Pret A Manager's coffee....it was amazing. I wouldn't mind them in the neigborhood."

WOW... that's really good news! The location in Bayonne is always packed. They make great italian deli sandwiches, good bread, salads & good prices... Hopefully this location will also sell soup, fresh containers of sauce and stock frozen specialty ravioli, gnocchi and other items.
