How long ago did this incident occur, did you report it, mention it to your local block association and at your Captain's meeting ? This should have been nipped in the bud from day one. Sounds like another occupy situation like OWS. Incidents like these could incite a riot maybe that is when the city will enforce some rules around there.

So it won't be a bar? I heard that the spot where Dunkin Donuts is will be a "specialty pizza place". And the place next to Powerhouse Lounge is a pizza place that is empty all the time.

It's a shame, Bar Majestic easily had the coolest vibe in all of JC - it actually had a ton of character, especially the front half of the interior. It had the feel of a wine bar in the Village or something. Not nearly enough places in JC like that...

Agreed. Majestic was a good time, at least when there were fun bartenders in there.

This sounds good. I prefer a heartier bread than an amoroso roll.

winner for best homeless guy. Never seen him scratch a car. Calls you Jesus when you give him "ten cents for an old man?"

He's always seemed pretty harmless unless he's drunk, then I've only seen him swearing and spitting beer on the sidewalk.

Although I hate to recommend a place in Hoboken over JC, Philly's Cheesesteak in Hoboken on Washington is as close to a real Philly steak as I've gotten in the area. They are the only ones who get the bread right, and they have whiz. Piccolos in Hoboken, as mentioned, is fantastic too, but it is not Philly style.

If you are going to go all the way to Philladelphia, Tony Luke's is the best IMHO. I much prefer it to Pat's or Geno's.

I have tried a lot of cheesesteaks in JC and none really are that great. I was hoping for someone to throw out a new spot on this thread but alas I think the answer is that there is no great place for one in JC

Exactly, Pats and Ginos are for tourists and drunks. It's garbage after two bites.

I've had Phillys Cheesesteak in Hobo and I agree, it's the best I've tried so far.
I don't see whats so hard. I can to almost any pizza shop or sandwich shop south of the Driscoll Bridge and get a decent one but up here, no one can get it right.

Looks like I'm making my own.

Anyone know of a good spot for cheese steaks downtown?
Stella's is the only place on delivery dot com that comes up. It seems like every cheese steak I've had from a pizza joint DTJC is sub-par at best.

It's not cheap but that's pretty much the going rate for crossfit in this area.

So this is going to be in the new construction on CC Blvd? Next to Shampoo and the cleaners?

I'm torn on this. I don't really see a diff between a dog peeing on the lawn or a kid peeing, except many dogs pee way more than kids.

Soloution: take your kid to the dog run to piss! Everyone's happy. Just be sure to bring some plastic bags to pickup your kids poo.

How about common sense? I don't see cars driving on the sidewalk.

Have you even been on Newark ave where cars park half on the sidewalk or CC Blvd where cars actually park entirely on the sidewalk?

Cars get stolen all the time and once recovered, it's hey, we found your car, that'll be $350 to get it out of the impound. By the way, we also gave you 6 tickets for being parked illegally, go take care of those too.

haha. ok, tighty whiteys is a little weird.

Not sure what the deal is with those guys; it may just be a culture thing. It also might be that they're only here a short time on a work visa or something. I've talked to a few guys at Luckys over the years that get brought over here to work for them and live basically a "dorm" lifestyle for a while then go back or go somewhere else. Some loved it, some hated it.

I don't think he actually "went there" as I was thinking it was Moshe's too. I have a bunch of these guys next to me and they're out on their porch every night/day grilling, smoking hookahs and partying. It doesn't bother me but I know my neighbors hate it.

I didn't see anything about "nude" sunbathing. underware is the same as a bathing suit anyway.

Reminds me of tourists in line at Cake Boss in Hoboken or Magnolia in the city.

Either way, 20 mins in line for ice cream seems a little crazy. I don't think I'd wait in line that long for a free cone and $5 cash back.
Tommy Two Scoops just got another customer or maybe I'll visit Torico's on a rainy day.
I didn't see lines yesterday. It's just the opening rush, the place has been closed for 18 months, Tasti De-Lite disappeared, people were eager for ice cream and to see the new space. Don't understand why people like you think everything has to do with damn yuppie scum.

I wouldn't wait behind welfare recipients for 20 minutes for ice cream either.
I have no problem with "yuppie scum" per se (at least in this instance) it just so happens that is who/what was in line. Same reason why I seldom go to wonder bagles anymore.

You don't need to waste money and send poop to yourself. Just put poop in a package outside your door in the morning. That is perfectly legal - you are not transporting anything.

Forget about poop, buy a can of worms in a pet store. Put some food in there and put that on the door step. If no one picks it up, then toss that in the garbage. if someone picks it up, then they stole it from you and they deserve what they get.

poop is free.

It is so good! I live across the street from this place and was hungry so I decided to check it out with my boyfriend. It is a new restaurant that opened with an owner who was a former stock broker turned chef . He went to culinary school at night before opening up his own place. Wow was I pleasantly surprised, the appetizers freshly made Empanadas and trio of Monfongos are freaking to die for. I am not of Puerto Rican decent but I have seen the light of what I have been missing. The Entrees were equally as tasty, my boyfriend had the pork and I had the chicken with Aji Verde sauce. So yummy , the owner calls this his money sauce, which could not be any further from the truth. I was a chef for over ten years before I got into food sales. I know my food! This place is a diamond in the rough excellent place for authentic Latino cuisine.

everytime.

I think a better angle would be, come in and mention JC list and we'll take 10% off your first bill.
