Re: Greenville: Suspect Killed By Police

I never mentioned race anywhere, but apprantley.. it was my tone... so now your ASSuming huh?

just let it die, you feel the way you feel and I feel the way I feel. You don't live in our neighborhood, you dont have to live there. (thank god, right?)

I am actually in know way related to this person, nor do I even know him. My point was the man should not have been murdered... and until you know the whole story, don't be so sure yourself. I look forward to hearing more about this.

FYI - I am not a cop-hater....in the least.
I am a crooked cop hater...

fyi CK - I never once attacked you for forming a different opinion then I. That must be too hard for you to do, Judging from your POSTS on here, you attack quite a few people because their opinion differs from yours. But i'm sure this is where you get your faceless kicks.. sh*t you would never DARE to say to peoples faces.

little known fact angeldust and Dip are two different things :)

Dip is a cigarette or weed dipped in embalming fluid and angel dust is an disassociative Anesthetic. If you want to be such a die hard activist for the bettering of JC neighborhoods maybe you should school yourself in some street names of drugs and WTF you are talking about.

Have a great night...
PS - If you don't want to be faceless you are more then welcome to join me at my favorite neighborhood "hood" bar for a drink, you know the one where someone got stabbed last week.

Good times for all!

I really dont side with criminals and "thugs", but I live side by side with what you perceive to be those types of people (black, white puerto-rican), I get to know them, I see it, No I am not a bad person... I don't partake in these activities, I don't even smoke weed 9which im sure some of you do). I work full-time, pay my rent on time, and generally mind my business. It's hard to make a observation or statement about someone unless you truely know them and that goes for both sides. I never said he shouldn't have been punished, I am saying he should not have been murdered. I think some of the comments are sterotypical of the black community and it bothers me that people still are on that type of mind-set. After all this is a forum, it's a place for people to communicate, I am not arguing simply stating my opinion, I do read all the posts, I take into consideration everyones words, I listen, I digest and then I form my opinion. If I feel I am wrong or you have made a valid point, I am not beneath myself to admit it, I also do not name call, call you stupid or an idiot because you do not agree with me, not everyone is going to agree with everyone, after all that's pretty boring. My thing is, some people have never been exposed to a world outside their own... I have been on both sides of the fence, I grew up in an all-white upperclass neighborhood, moved to the South Bronx, Paterson and then finally JC... I prefer living in a city compared to the suburbs, but that's me.

That was also to clear up the posts about me being a thug lover I guess....

New Heights -

if your going to make statements about the other occupants please let them at least be facts... Did I miss the part where they also listed the criminal occupants as being high and havings a record?

WAKE -

I appreciate your response, I am nowhere saying the guy was an innocent man in his prior convictions or possessing narcotics.. hell he admitted to it! What I do not agree with is his killing, unforuntately this is going to make a pretty big impact in our neighborhood with regards to the cops and residents.

What really bothers me the most... none of the passengers have been charged with any crime. I guess they got the wrong vehicle.. and where is the article about "said" robbery? I didn't see that in the JJ...

oh please CanDicker, please show me the article in which he murdered someone.... show me that persons obituary, show me the time he served in jail.... HE DIDN'T so quite frankly, you might as well compare him with Mother Theresa if your going to compare him with Hitler

"dirtbag"

regardless of his past infractions, this is someones brother, son, father even....

if my son was involved in some sh*t regardless of what he did, im not going to be like oh "glad, that dirtbag" is gone, put yourself in their shoes, imagine your brother, or father, or whomever... who made a bad decision in their lives.

Further more, I dont believe the story.... I don't care about hate posts.. it is what it is. 7 times out of 10 the cops are bigger "dirtbags" then those who they arrest.

I agree with the police presence at JSQ... or as I refer to it... L7 (haha) I sometimes take the path into the city on a Saturday night and come home in the wee hours of the morning... most of the time with a friend but sometimes come home alone... for a woman traveling in the square ... I carry mace if you read the paper there are more then enough robberies that have taken place in JSQ

And where do you suppose EX-Cons are supposed to go for jobs when they get out of jail.... Would you hire an Ex-Con?? im guessing no, so then what... where do they go? back to the streets to make money? because noone else believed in them to give them a second, hey maybe a third chance... I kept my employees status secret from the president of the company... until he told him himself, and by then he had more then proven himself as a hardworker .... had he known before-hand im pretty sure the president wouldn't have allowed him to be hired. Sometimes people make sacrifices because they believe in others, not because they listen to stereotypes... it's called expanding your horizons, opening up your mind... you should try it sometimes.... maybe not you... but someone... because if I didn't who would have?

*sigh* and how do you know that none of these guys had jobs and insurance?? Sure i'm a fudging optimist... but damn ... I hired an ex-con drug dealer to be a driver for my company... and he is the best damn driver we ever had... even more so... he was offered a job in the office... bypassing the shipping supervisor who has been here for over 10 years... people change.. surprise it is possible..

It's street code.... snitches get stitches.... If they snitch they will retalliate and vice versa... back and forth. I'm not saying it's right but saying people deserve to be shot because they served time is ridiculous... I once was arrested for weed in my car when I was 17... so I'm guessing that lol I should have my spine shattered too .... shame on me!

I dont know if anyone else is forgetting gang colors... in in a gangs territory you get caught wearing the wrong color shirt and your dead... or most likely beaten up... Some people take to wearing the white colors... to stray away from that happening... And that's not a stereotype that is a true story.

You also have to take into consideration the people that refuse the help. I dont know if anyone is familiar with the 1&9 "guy" the really old one with the walker... I would see him up and down 1&9 everyday... now he has moved up town... in the Bergen/Greeneville section.... or the blond haired lady on 1&9.... or the pregnant one, who I have stopped seeing... It's hard to see these people day in and out, it's like a routine and you give what you have when you can, but I will say 7 times out of 10... there is a drug problem and or a mental health problem. How about when you walk into Journal Square at 9-10pm... I could count at least 15 homeless sleeping around the fountain.... or the church up on Bergen on the right... JC does have a homeless problem... but hey whats going to happen to all those low-income people when everyone wants those projects tore down?? JC is going to have an even bigger homeless population then ever.

I lived on 165th and Gerard about 3 years ago for 2 years... for those of you who dont know its about 2 blocks from Yankee stadium... I was probabllly the only white person who resided there in the immediate area.... never encountered a problem ..... only heard gun shots a couple times lol.. but all in all the neighborhood wasn't too bad I have seen more in JC then I did in the 2 years i lived there... although I had my car window smashed one night that was my own stupidity for parking under the train....

You know the other day I was in shop-rite and when I came out I saw a man walking to his car with a Macys bag... so me being the nice neighbor say " You know they tow you for going to the mall from here"

him - " I know, they did it once before."
me - "um ok, so why not just pay the 2.00?"
him - "It's too much of a hassle"
me - "ok"

Re: The Beacon

Home away from home

I have been staring at this post for hours... actually the thread... I live literally 5 blocks up from here.... I AM LOW INCOME and not afraid to admit it.

I do not live in the projects but you pay more in maintenance then I do for my monthly RENT.... I work my ass off, I am a good tenant, I don't "commit" crimes... I have friends who live in those projects... who also are just like me, who have lived in JC all their lives... so now... in order for you to have a more aesthetically pleasing view of your new half million dollar condo... we have to up and leave??

Or because we can't afford to live downtown or in Beacon, we are ghetto, no class, crack-head whores??

I walk my dogs at 1, 2am... in the GHETTO, and guess what?
I love it... my neighbors are nice and not uppity, everyone looks out for each other... I live in the Ghetto... places where some of you would not walk in the day-time.. I left my window open on my brand new Jeep... (all the way down) and not one soul touched my car because everyone looks out for each other... were a community and we deserve to be hear just as much as you, (if not more) do.

Opening this post up again because of the whole "brownstone" baby thing... I always wanted to go there, I dont have kids.. but the other posters seemed like they didnt really like the service... VIP waitresses SUCK! I had an older white woman who rolled her eyes, damn near threw drinks at us, and had convos wit other staff while we were waiting on her... I complained to the manager... he SHRUGGED his shoulders... I definately am going to try Coach House it seems like it gets awesome reviews... Al's is decent .....
