Last winter I was 3/4 the way across the crosswalk on Jersey Avenue at 7th street. A car came around the corner and luckily was able to stop in time but ? her grill was flat up against me. I've never come so close to being seriously hurt or worse.

Thanks for all your comments. I think I'll go with renting a mailbox from PostNet near the Grove Street PATH. Years ago I lived next door to a 1/2 & was always getting his mail & vice versa. Luckily, we were both decent folk & got the mail to the rightful owner.

Arghhh! ? I just moved to an address with a 1/2 ? and every website I try to update with my new address is a trial. Some take the 1/2, some take the .5, some take the "and a half" & some won't accept any of these.

Any suggestions from other 1/2'ers out there?

Just wanted to let you know that Village Tropical, Newark at Jersey, is closing this weekend. Israel's had his store here in downtown Jersey City for the past 25 years. Sorry to see him go!

The one thing that always worked in Jersey City was the garbage & recycling pick-up. I hope the new guys are as good as the old guys. Kind of bummed to hear this.

Just to throw my two cents in ... I'm a 62 year old & I'm voting for the 36 year old.

What I really hate is when flyers are taped, or worse, stapled to trees. Do that & you've lost my vote.

Years ago my old landlord had Del Forno take over maintenance of her building. I would advise them of lights burned out in the hallway & front door & nothing was done .. for months. Advised them that the drain outside needed to be cleaned out. They didn't respond & the next big rain the first floor flooded. I was just a pain in the the neck to them ... good riddance I say.

Thanks Jaded ... that's how I remembered the visitor's parking permits ... good for one day only & for no specific vehicle. But, it's been a long time since I've needed one. Next day off from work I'll go pick-up some up.

Thanks for the info, Heights. I didn't realize that a visitor parking permit could only be issued for one particular vehicle. Jeesh! Anyway, since the PATH will be running all night, we're going to meet in the City instead of JC.

Does anyone have a spare daily visitor parking permit? A friend is coming in for New Year's Eve & definitely doesn't want to get a parking ticket/boot. Please inbox me if you have one you can spare ... thanks!

The buses have been running from Exchange Place to Newark Penn Station on schedule ... yay!
