Creepy! You could get a bit more aggressive in getting those pics taken down from Flickr. If you, or your child, are the central focus of someone's photo I believe they have the burden of needing a model release form. There's an article from the Times about this...

300 of JC's finest on the streets at any given moment sounds pretty damn good to me. But numbers on a napkin don't mean much. I wonder what the number actually is (by ward, in case anyone actually find out).

So I flagged both of them after I posted. The first one now has a content warning and the second was removed. That's a pretty responsive, if not perfect, result.

I\'ve actually seen Teddy give money and food to people in more need than himself so I\'m a bit conflicted. Not just some change either. He gives out fivers. If you\'ve ever watched The Wire, I kind of consider hime a Bubbles kind of character. Tragic, flawed, good-hearted. He is out there \"working\" though, right? Dude clearly has problems and he is looking bad these days. I\'ll always give him a buck a big or two. Sorry if I\'m ruining your tough love.

Don't kid yourself. Without the government bailout, they would have been completely screwed as well.

Stopped by tonight. Took 10 minutes to be acknowledged even though I was the only patron at the bar. Asked for a menu, ordered the fancy $15 burger, and was informed that I was given the wrong menu. Of course. Who would order a burger for dinner at a bar? Order a lamb loin medium, came well done within 8 minutes. That means they're par searing the food and then sticking it the broiler for heat when somebody asks for it. Had eat it with a butter knife. It also came with bread and a side of tomato sauce. Because I just love pumpernickel bread with tomato sauce. The beans were good though.

This is what happens when Irish people attempt haute italian.

I'm sad.

I feel it's a weak comparison but I'll leave you to that opinion. Perhaps we shouldn't be looking to Rolling Stone for great insight to our economic woes, but it certainly seems to have gotten the conversation started elsewhere.

Then let's not pretend that McArdle has some great inside here. She's just arguing inside baseball because she has a few years on Taibbi studying this stuff. The pointy-heads she loves to rail against have been doing the same to her for some time. It's not as if she disagrees with the big picture anyway.

McArdle:
Quote:

Which is not to say that I disagree with Taibbi's project. Wall Street is an arrogant beast that more than held up its half of the devil's bargain which drove us into our current ugly straits. Bankers who thought they were geniuses were deceived by models that assumed away the possibility of a second great depression. They made a terrifying amount of money doing it. And now that the taxpayers have bailed them out at considerable expense, we don't even get a goddamn fruit basket. Instead they merrily go along paying themselves gigantic bonuses for the singular feat of not driving our economy entirely back to the stone age. I think some populist rage is more than warranted..

He did? Citation needed. I keep hearing this from people that don't have facts to back them up. Maybe it's this piece from 2002 were he's talking about Greenspan NEEDING a housing bubble to replace the tech bubble and loss in business spending. He far from condoned it. By 2006 he was already yelling from the hilltops that the end was nigh.

2002: http://www.nytimes.com/2002/08/02/opinion/dubya-s-double-dip.html

And yes, the whole point of the GS issue right now is that they have way too much influence on the national economy right now. If we know anything about Goldman, it's that they look out for themselves all else be damned.

Don't jump on him? He went THROUGH two trees, a utility pole and then took out an entire iron fence. Waaay too fast for the side streets around here especially since you're correct about cars parking on the corners.

You go that fast on these streets and you deserve a good crack to the head before you kill someone.

. . .

Jersey City - 629 Grove St. -Industrial Building - many employees have seen ghosts wearing clothes with style from a different era. Feet running sounds and more, screams all that happen on the second and third shift.

Jersey City - Daily News Building - This place is haunted on a daily basis by the chief Machinist that was supposedly beheaded by a disgruntled employee. Workers there say that they hear the words "Jeezz I'm the Chief" coming from one of the offices late at night.

lol. Everyone needs a hobby I suppose.
