The real irony is that this show concept is perfect for Hoboken - yet they turned the show down.

This show is not a fit at all for JC, it's a real head scratcher - and yet our buffoon leaders happily accept the money, err, "recognition".

Parts of The Sopranos was filmed in JC, you could have said the same thing about that show. Whenever I go though the covered roadway from the Holland tunnel I'm always reminded of the opening sequence to The Sopranos.

This is going to enrich the off duty JC police who are assigned to this show.

Find out what brand is in the wall and google the same brand on the web,
the manufacturer should have a link to a local HVAC installer.

Generally speaking, what is the general rule for most condos.

Whatever you do you will still have to notify your condo of your plans especially if it involves any type of construction, you cannot proceed without their approval.

That's correct, they just want to extract more money from you.

You should direct these questions to your managing agent or condo board. All condos are different as to what is or is not permitted.

Wondering why I have to go to court for a parking violation?? Will call tomorrow and keep you posted.

The values are close to twice what they are in JC so when you consider a 2br condo in Manhattan is valued at over $1 million and an average value in JC is 1/2 that the tax rate is much lower in NYC.

When the Light Rail was first proposed properties in Bayonne on both sides of the proposed route appreciated 20% before the line was built.
Greenville and the Heights won't see any significant development until the downtown neighborhoods become built up to the point that there are no more significant opportunities for developers.

You definitely should double check if its possible to get to TJs and Mitsuwa as i have described....yeah know just in case. Good looking out and all 07310.

I'll have to work on my mind reading and reading between the lines abilities so that I can interpret your posts.
I shop at all three stores WH, TJs and Mtisuwa weekly, its a 20 minute drive from JC.

Where you part of the candle making operation? That what I remember what was going on there when I bought the old boxing gym building down the street back in late 2001.

I love a good ghost story.. what's the deal with the two that you mentioned?

I designed all the packaging and catalogues for the candle company, my assistant had the "gift" of being able to see and communicate with spirits. She said the ghost on the 4th floor where my office and photo studio and her office was harmless but playful. It would move things around in the studio, the owners cat would hang out with us and when it would start to whine we knew the ghost was with us.The third floor was storage she would never go into that floor alone but would not say why.
Both ghosts were former workers of the laundry company that occupied the building many years ago.

Is this building 66 Laidlaw in the Heights? I worked in that building about 10 years ago when the company I worked for at the time bought it and moved their manufacturing operations from Brooklyn. I was the Creative Director for the company and I had a wonderful office on the 4th floor with a photo studio. The building is haunted there are 2 ghosts in the building one on the 4th floor and one on the third floor. Renovations should make them very active.

For the person who stated the above quote, i am not sure if you read all my messages for this thread.

I go to the Edgewater TJs cause i get to hit up Mitsuwa as well. And many times I have gone to the city for TJs. But i only have time on the weekends for shopping and no car....as part of my options . It can also take alot of time. Remember on the Weekend the Path always goes to Hoboken first. And depending on the time...you have to wait for the Path a good 40 mins. And even before all that I have to take the Light Rail to the Path station.

You should re read your own message (post #93) there is no mention of shopping at Mitsuwa you only mention shopping at TJs.

I am so not rich at all and I shop at TJs. Many of the basics there are cheaper or equal in price to the major supermarkets. For example, Almond Milk or Soy Milk some of the major brand ones(although TJs has their own brand) is many times a dollar or more cheaper than say the local shoprite. I always pick up one or two of them.

Also, for someone who doesn't have a car at the moment the trip to Edgewater can take an hour and half(one way) or more because I can only go on the weekends. I have to take the lightrail and then wait most of the times up to 40 mins especially if its later in the evening for a NJ Transit bus. So it would be awesome to see a TJs at JC or Bayonne.

Why are you spending an hour and half to go to Edgewater when you can take the PATH to 23rd st a 15-20 min trip where there is a Trader Joes 21st & 7th and Whole Foods 24th & 7th, a few blocks away from the 23rd st station?

Trader Joes and WF will never come to JC, 50,000 upscale households in downtown is not enough to support these stores.
Crushthedemonic and Neverleft are more typical of the types of people and households in JC these people would never shop in upscale stores.

Working with realtors when you are selling your property yourself is not the same as listing with a realtor for a low commission. When you sell your house yourself, it's more like you are your own broker, and you split the 5% or 6% commission with the buyer's agent. Brokers and realtors usually cooperate with each other anyway, so why not just be your own broker, do your own open houses, and cooperate with other brokers.

I may be selling my condo in the next couple of years and was thinking about the FSBO route.
Good to know that it is doable because I wasn't thrilled with handing over 6% of the sale price which would be 30K+

Last year I was on the N/R uptown platform on the downtown side a very large woman pulled her pants down and planted her butt against the wall and started to pee. She must have been holding it for a while because it was like a tidal wave on the platform.

Rent was so high not to mention purchasing a place. forget it.

We moved to downtown Jersey city because it is very similar to parts of Brooklyn, it has all the charm, but the homes seemed to have much more chance of an upside as opposed to Brooklyn and Hoboken.

However, neighborhoods change rapidly and becuase of the convenience of downtown JC to the city I have already seen a major increase in great restaurants and shops.

I can only hope my foresight and intuitions were right and the homes increase in value.
get in now when you still can ;)

You're going to have to wait several years for the housing market to recover, if you bought along the waterfront your values should recover faster than the rest of JC.
